 Studio Policies  

1. Payment is due in full by the first of the month, with a grace period to the first lesson of the month for check/cash payments. (New students: payment is due by your first lesson.)

2. Cancellations within 48 hours still require payment. With more notice or if the teacher cancels, payment will be applied to the following month. Please give notice if you can’t attend. No-shows count as cancellations.

3. Rescheduling requires 48+ hours’ notice, but the more notice the better. Lessons must be rescheduled within 60 days, and it is your responsibility to ensure so. Each student gets two “late reschedules” (under 48 hours’ notice) per year. After that, students can cancel, use the swap list, or submit videos for feedback (an“asynchronous lesson”). Flexible rescheduling will be announced for inclement weather or similar events. Reschedule requests must be made before the lesson time—otherwise, it’s a cancellation.

4. Please stay home when sick. Anyone sick will kindly be sent home and the lesson canceled. In case of illness you can cancel, have a virtual or asynchronous lesson, use the swap list, or reschedule (unless it is within 48 hours and you’ve used all your “late reschedules” for the year).

5. Lessons end on time, even if you’re late.

6. Dropped off students must be picked up on time. There is no childcare for anyone unattended.

7. School aged students perform in a biannual recital if they have been enrolled for at least five months by the time of the recital. Adults and newer students may opt in. Attendance is expected for the entire performance. Alterations to pieces require teacher approval. 

8. At least 4 lessons (including virtual/asynchronous) over the summer are required to keep your spot. Fewer lessons or withdrawing forfeits your place on the schedule, but you are welcome to re-enroll in the fall if openings remain. “Summer” is defined by the Austin Independent School District calendar.

9. Any unpaid balance is due if you withdraw. Withdrawing within 48 hours of a lesson still requires payment. Refunds for unused lessons aren’t guaranteed.

10. Continued enrollment constitutes agreement to all policy changes. If the policies change you will be notified via email.
