Studio Policies
1. Payment is due in full by the 1st, though check/cash payments may be brought to the first lesson of the month.
2. Cancellations within 48 hours and no-shows still require payment. With more notice, or if the teacher cancels, payment will be credited to the next month.
3. Rescheduling or getting a make up credit requires 48+ hours’ notice. All reschedule requests must be made before the lesson time - otherwise, it’s a cancellation. Each student gets two “late reschedules” (under 48 hours’ notice, but before the lesson’s start time) per year. After two late reschedules students can cancel, use the swap list, or have an asynchronous lesson. Flexible rescheduling will be announced via email in case of inclement weather or similar events.
4* . Make up credits/rescheduled lessons must be booked within 60 days of the original lesson. They cannot be refunded to future invoices, including swapping out a future lesson slot with a rescheduled lesson, as this is essentially cancelling past the 48 hours notice period. Students cannot forgo a make up credit and refund the payment to their account if it's within 48 hours of the lesson, as that would be cancelling within 48 hours.
5. Please stay home when sick. Anyone sick will kindly be sent home and the lesson canceled. In case of illness please attend virtually, cancel, have an asynchronous lesson, use the swap list, or reschedule (unless it is within 48 hours and you’ve used all your “late reschedules” for the year).
6. Lessons end on time, even if you’re late.
7. Please watch the clock if you drop off a student. Early drop offs/late pick ups quickly create safety issues.
8. School aged students perform in a biannual recital if they have been enrolled for at least five months by the time of the recital. Adults and newer students may opt in. Attendance is expected for the entire performance. Alterations to pieces require teacher approval.
9. At least 4 lessons (including virtual/asynchronous) over the summer are required to keep your spot. Fewer lessons or withdrawing forfeits your place on the schedule, but you may re-enroll in the fall if openings remain. “Summer” is defined by the Austin Independent School District calendar.
10. Any unpaid balance is due if you withdraw. Withdrawing within 48 hours of a lesson still requires payment. Refunds for unused lessons aren’t guaranteed.
*For students enrolled before October 20, 2025, this policy will go into effect as of January 1st, 2026 and will be announced via email. If you enroll after October 20th, 2025, this policy is in effect immediately.
